How it all started...
A teaching award from second grade hangs above my desk today. My mother once told me I earned it after spending summers gathering neighborhood children in our garage, which I had carefully arranged as a classroom. Long before I understood what teaching meant, I was already doing it.
I did not grow up declaring that I wanted to be a teacher. Teaching simply found me.
My Journey Into Education
My path into education was not traditional.
I spent the first nine years of my education in a Montessori school where curiosity guided learning. When I later entered a traditional high school without that environment, I struggled to find my place. Eventually, I left the predictable path of school altogether and began learning through travel, creative work, and running a small design business.
Years later, I returned to education with a renewed sense of purpose. In college classrooms filled with inspired teachers and engaged students, I rediscovered what learning could feel like when curiosity and exploration are at the center.
I realized something that has guided my work ever since: knowledge opens doors, and education can be emancipating.

Curious About My Full Story?
My journey into teaching includes Montessori classrooms, creative work in fashion and theater, travel, and an unconventional path back to education.
If you would like to read the full story of how those experiences shaped the way I teach today, you can read it here.

How I Work With Students
Today, I work with students as a writing coach and educator, helping them discover their voice through writing.
Many of the students I work with are bright, thoughtful learners who feel stuck when facing writing assignments or overwhelmed by academic expectations. Others are preparing college application essays and want their writing to reflect who they truly are rather than what they think admissions officers want to hear.
My work focuses on helping students:
-
develop confidence in their ideas
-
organize their thinking clearly
-
write authentic and thoughtful college essays
-
use writing as a tool for reflection and learning
When students begin to trust their own voice, writing becomes something very different.
Writing becomes a way to understand themselves and communicate their ideas with clarity and purpose.

Who I Work Best With
I often work best with students who:
-
feel overwhelmed by writing assignments
-
have strong ideas but struggle to organize them
-
want their college essays to feel authentic and meaningful
-
enjoy reflective thinking or journaling
-
learn best through conversation, curiosity, and thoughtful feedback
I also enjoy working with homeschool students and independent learners who value curiosity-driven learning.
